IMPLEMENTASI ALGORITMA FORWARD CHAINING PADA SISTEM PAKAR DIAGNOSA HAMA DAN PENYAKIT TANAMAN PISANG (MUSA SPP.)
Abstract
The slow response in handling banana pest and disease outbreaks in Ngada Regency since 2022 has been due to farmers’ limited knowledge of early detection of pest and disease symptoms, along with the limited availability of agricultural experts and extension officers in the field. This has led to rapid disease spread, expanding the infected areas and resulting in significant crop losses. This study aims to develop an expert system to assist farmers and the broader community in diagnosing banana pests and diseases. Data was collected through field observations and interviews involving banana farmers and agricultural experts to acquire knowledge on banana pests and diseases, followed by a literature review from books, journals, and other relevant sources. The system design and knowledge base analysis used a forward chaining algorithm with data on 9 diseases and 40 symptoms, which was subsequently implemented in a web-based application. The waterfall model was chosen as the system development model, covering requirements specification analysis, system design, coding, and system testing. System testing results using the black box technique showed a 100% success rate, and analysis of usability and responsiveness aspects indicated a 98% satisfaction rate.
