THE EFFECT OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND WORK STRESS ON PERFORMANCE THROUGH EMPLOYEE SATISFACTION AT THE INVESTMENT AND ONE-STOP INTEGRATED SERVICES AGENCY OF PASURUAN REGENCY
Abstract
This study examines the influence of emotional intelligence and work stress on employee performance at the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office of Pasuruan Regency (DPMPTSP), with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach and census method involving all 73 employees, data were analyzed through the Partial Least Squares (PLS) technique using SmartPLS 3.0. The findings indicate that emotional intelligence and job stress significantly affect performance, while job satisfaction not only enhances performance directly but also mediates the effects of both emotional intelligence and job stress. These results emphasize the importance of managing emotions and maintaining job satisfaction to improve employee effectiveness within public organizations
