Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of TikTok Shop reviews on students' purchasing decisions for viral products. The social commerce phenomenon has made consumer reviews a primary source of information that can shape perceptions, trust, and emotional impulses before purchasing. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique, involving respondents who have read reviews and shopped via TikTok Shop. Simple linear regression analysis was used to test the relationship between variables. The results show that TikTok Shop reviews have a positive and significant effect on students' purchasing decisions, with a regression coefficient of 1.040 and a significance of 0.000. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.554 indicates that 55.4% of the variation in purchasing decisions can be explained by consumer reviews on the platform. This finding confirms that TikTok Shop reviews not only function as complementary information but also as a strategic factor that accelerates the decision-making process and can trigger impulsive purchases of viral products. Overall, consumer reviews are proven to play an important role in shaping the purchasing behavior of the younger generation.
