DESAIN DAN IMPLEMENTASI SISTEM INFORMASI PENJUALAN DAN MANAJEMEN PERSEDIAAN BERBASIS WEB DENGAN METODE PROTOTYPE

Abstract

This study addresses problems in sales and inventory management at UD Merta Asih, where operational activities are still carried out using manual record-keeping, leading to data inconsistencies, calculation errors, difficulties in stock monitoring, and delays in report generation. The objective of this research is to analyze and design a web-based sales and inventory information system that can improve operational efficiency and data accuracy. The prototype method was employed as the system development approach, enabling iterative design and continuous user feedback. Data were collected through interviews, direct observation, and literature studies. System design was conducted using flowcharts, Data Flow Diagrams (DFD), Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), and high-fidelity user interface prototypes developed with Figma. The results show that the proposed system design is able to support sales transaction recording, inventory management, and report generation in a more structured, accurate, and efficient manner compared to the existing manual system. Evaluation using guerrilla usability testing indicates that the interface is easy to use, understandable, and aligned with the operational needs of the owner, cashier, and warehouse staff. In conclusion, the proposed system design is expected to minimize recording errors, improve inventory control, and enhance overall operational effectiveness at UD Merta Asih.
